Lanterns of the Lost Vale
Lanterns of the Lost Vale is quiet and beautiful. You play a lamplighter walking through a fading valley, relighting lanterns that unlock fragments of the place's history. There's almost no text; the story lives in murals, ambient sound, and the way the world brightens as you go.
The puzzles are environmental and never mean-spirited. You nudge light around, redirect it through crystals, and coax hidden paths open. Nothing here wants to stump you for an hour, and that's fine; the game is about mood, not challenge. Each solved area feels like taking a breath.
It's short, maybe four or five hours, and I mean that as praise. It says what it wants to say and ends before it overstays. If you want something calm to play before bed, this is the one I keep recommending.
